WASHINGTON - Earlier today, Thursday, November 14, 2019, the Problem Solvers Caucus formally supported the following position:

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, the Problem Solvers Caucus announced its endorsement of H.R. 4916, the Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2019, to provide earned visa status for Certified Agricultural Workers (CAWs) and provide ranchers and farmers a legal, reliable workforce. This bill specifically expands the H-2A foreign guest-worker program, so farmers can easily hire workers.

WASHINGTON – Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus endorsed H.R. 3497, the Jumpstart Our Businesses by Supporting Students (JOBS) Act, to expand Pell Grant eligibility for qualifying short-term training programs, helping more Americans gain access to industry-recognized credentials. This bill is the companion to legislation introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Tim Kaine (D-VA).

WASHINGTON - Today, October 22, 2019, the Problem Solvers Caucus praised the passage of H.R. 724, the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act of 2019, which utilized the new House "Consensus Calendar" to help get a debate and vote on the House floor. This legislation creates a federal animal cruelty statute prohibiting the most heinous acts of abuse which can occur beyond the reach of state cruelty laws.

WASHINGTON – The Problem Solvers Caucus has endorsed H.R. 1980, the Smithsonian Women's History Museum Act, which will establish a brand new women's history museum on the Mall in Washington, as a part of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. The Museum will showcase the invaluable contributions women have made to the United States throughout its history in every professional field and sector of society.

Tydings Memorial Prevent All Soring Tactics Act of 2019. The bill received priority consideration on the House floor by having more than 290 bipartisan cosponsors – an instrumental new house rule the Problem Solvers Caucus led the fight for earlier this Congress.

WASHINGTON – Today, Members of the Problem Solvers Caucus praised the passage of the Caucus-endorsed H. Res. 246, a bipartisan resolution opposing the Global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement targeting Israel.

The Caucus' endorsement, spearheaded by Congressmen Brad Schneider (IL-10) and Steve Watkins (KS-02), united Democratic and Republican Caucus members behind the effort to denounce the boycott of Israel, and support a two-state solution, providing this bipartisan resolution with more momentum for today's vote on the House Floor.

WASHINGTON – Last Friday, members of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus visited McAllen, TX to see facilities and conditions at the southern border. The trip was led by Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) and Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-PA). Members visited the Donna Holding Facility for family units and unaccompanied children, the Port of Entry in Hidalgo, a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) living and learning center for unaccompanied minors run by the non-profit BCFS, and the McAllen Central Processing Center.

WASHINGTON – Members of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus will be visiting the southern border of the United States in the Rio Grande Valley on Friday, July 19, 2019.Among the facilities the Caucus members will be inspecting are points of entry, a border patrol station, and a centralized processing center. Caucus members will also be inspecting the physical U.S.-Mexican border and will participate in briefings and discussions with experts on the ground. Reps. Lloyd Smucker (R-PA) and Dean Phillips (D-MN) are co-leading the Problem Solvers Caucus' visit.

WASHINGTON - Today, utilizing the new House "Consensus Calendar," the Problem Solvers Caucus praised the repeal of the excessive health care "Cadillac Tax" surcharge. The bill received priority consideration on the House floor by having more than 290 bipartisan cosponsors – a key new house rule the Problem Solvers Caucus fought for early this Congress. The bill, H.R.748 -- Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019, had 369 bipartisan co-sponsors.

WASHINGTON – The Problem Solvers Caucus, which includes 23 Democrats and 23 Republicans, today issued the following statement regarding the border emergency supplemental bill.

"Given the humanitarian crisis at the border, the Problem Solvers Caucus is asking for the immediate consideration on the House Floor today of HR 3401, as amended by the Senate."

WASHINGTON – Today, Thursday, June 27, 2019, Members of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, led by Caucus Co-Chairs Tom Reed (R-NY) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), along with Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Joe Manchin (D-WV), announced principles to support legislation to address the country's constantly rising prescription drug prices while boosting access to health care nationwide, increasing price transparency, and growing competition.

WASHINGTON – Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus, Co-Chaired by Representatives Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05) and Tom Reed (NY-23), applauded the House Judiciary Committee for passing bipartisan legislation, H.R. 1327, the Never Forget the Heroes Act, favorably out of committee, moving the bill forward for a vote on the House floor.

The Problem Solvers Caucus believes we need to put aside partisanship so, together, we can solve this urgent national issue.

Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus, Co-Chaired by Congressmen Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05) and Tom Reed (NY-23), voted to formally endorse H. Res. 246, a bipartisan resolution opposing the Global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement targeting Israel.

Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus, Co-Chaired by Representatives Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05) and Tom Reed (NY-23), voted to formally endorse the Never Forget the Heroes Act, which will extend the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund and restore full benefits to victims.

Today, members of the Problem Solvers Caucus amended HR 1 by utilizing a new rule included in the "Break the Gridlock" rules package negotiated with House leadership and implemented this Congress. The House Committee on Rules gave preference to this amendment because at least 20 Democrats and 20 Republicans cosponsored it, per Problem Solvers Caucus implemented rules change.

Yesterday, a bipartisan group of Members in the Problem Solvers Caucus voted to support the Rules package to organize the House of Representatives, which included commonsense rules changes proposed by the Problem Solvers Caucus. These rules changes will help "Break the Gridlock" in Congress and enable progress on much-needed legislation to move the country forward. Republican Members Tom Reed (NY-23), John Katko (NY-24), and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-8) voted for the Rules package.

Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus applauded the passage of the FIRST Step Act, which now heads to the President Trump's desk to be signed into law. The bipartisan criminal justice reform legislation, which passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support, will strengthen our communities, improve the lives of thousands and save taxpayers money.
