WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus announced its endorsement of the Caribbean Border Counternarcotics Strategy Act, legislation to combat drug trafficking from the Caribbean region into the United States. The Caribbean Border Counternarcotics Strategy Act would require the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to issue a strategy to stem the flow of illegal drugs from the Caribbean to the United States, with a particular focus on Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In honor of National Police Week, the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus highlighted their endorsement of H.R. 3184, the Invest to Protect Act of 2023, legislation that seeks to strengthen police departments nationwide through targeted investments in officer safety, recruitment, and mental health. The Invest to Protect Act would establish targeted investments in small and midsize police departments to conduct critical training activities, provide mental health resources, obtain necessary equipment, and bolster officer recruitment and retention efforts.
