WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chairs Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and Tom Suozzi (NY-03), along with Problem Solvers Reps. Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) and Salud Carbajal (CA-24), members of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, sent a bipartisan letter to Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries urging them to restore funding for federal surface transportation programs to their Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 enacted levels.

As currently proposed, funding levels would reduce highway funding by nearly $10 billion, airport infrastructure funding by approximately $5 billion, and public transit funding by roughly $4 billion. These reductions could delay or defer projects already planned by state and local transportation agencies, increase long-term costs, and create uncertainty for communities relying on these investments.
