PSC Mental Health & Substance Abuse Working Group Co-Leads Recognize National Fentanyl Awareness Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On National Fentanyl Awareness Day, Reps. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) and Brittany Pettersen (CO-07), Co-Leads of the Problem Solvers Caucus Mental Health & Substance Abuse Working Group, released the following statement:
“An American dies of an opioid overdose every five minutes, with fentanyl responsible for the vast majority of these deaths. Behind every number is a family that is torn apart and a community that will never be the same. This is a devastating public health crisis that demands real, bipartisan action. As Co-Leads of PSC’s Mental Health & Substance Abuse Working Group, we are committed to working across party lines to develop comprehensive solutions that both address the supply of these deadly substances and expand access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services. The time to act is now — Americans are counting on us to put politics aside and deliver real solutions to this national emergency. Every person deserves the resources they need to live in recovery and rebuild their lives.”
